General Anesthesia
Occurs when complete unconsciousness is reached and is frequently associated with the need for an airway device to support breathing.
MAC
Also commonly referred to as sedation. The patient is given an anesthetic that helps relieve pain, discomfort, and anxiety but not to the point of complete unconsciousness.
Regional
The administration of local anesthesia to numb distinct parts of your body. Examples include epidural, spinal, and nerve block anesthesia. Frequently, regional anesthesia is combined with one of the other types of anesthesia to provide the greatest degree of comfort.
